Our Executive Team
cmr's executive team offers a broad perspective on the convention and exhibition industry, largely attributed to our valuable years of experience in the convention bureau, hotel, airline, tradeshow and corporate meetings sectors.
Steve Olsen
Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Steve Olsen guides the company vision in all working facets of the organization and seeks to help
every individual realize his or her full professional potential. His rich experience in travel and
convention management is credited to previous positions held with Trans World Airlines, Maritz Travel
Company, and just prior to the inception of cmr, the San Francisco-based
Shaklee Corporation as Director of Conventions.
Dave Goetz
Co-Founder and President
Dave Goetz is responsible for directing all new business development projects for cmr
with an emphasis on industry and client relations. Dave began his professional career with Hilton
Hotels Corporation in 1981 and held national sales management positions for the company in Los Angeles
and San Francisco. Prior to cmr, he also represented the Convention and
Visitors Bureaus of both Phoenix and San Francisco in promoting each city as a citywide convention
destination for national associations.
Brian Roy
Chief Operating Officer
Brian Roy began his career with cmr in 1998 as Director of Sales and Marketing.
In 2005 Brian assumed responsibility for the Client Service department at cmr
as Vice President of Client Services. His responsibilities included the management of all pre-planning,
post-event and overall customer satisfaction programs. As Chief Operating Officer, Brian currently
oversees Client Services, Operations, IT and Software Development as well as providing overall leadership,
company vision and strategic planning. Prior to joining cmr, Brian held management and sales positions
with Westin Hotels and Resorts for over 15 years. Brian also spent several years as Director of Convention
Services with IDG Expo Management, a Boston based tradeshow management company specializing in IT related
tradeshows and events.
Julie Noto
Vice President, Operations
Julie joined cmr in January, 2007, after 23 years in the hospitality industry.
Julie began her career at the Omni Royal Orleans in New Orleans, LA in 1984 and held positions as Assistant
Manager, Reservations Manager, Senior Sales Manager, Director of Rooms and was the hotel's General Manager
for the past two years. Julie will oversee the Housing, Registration, and Customer Care Center (C3) departments,
focusing her efforts on the implementation of standards to enhance the overall customer experience.
Nancy De Ubago
Vice President, Housing Systems
Nancy De Ubago has been the lead content and functional advisor for the development of
CMR.ez Housing, cmr's proprietary web-based housing
technology. Nancy brings over twenty years of experience in the hospitality industry to
cmr. Before joining cmr in 1994, Nancy was responsible
for housing operations at the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Ana Macdonald
Vice President, Finance
Ana Macdonald began her cmr career in 1995. Ana oversees all aspects of
cmr's finance department. In addition to general business finance management,
Ana oversees all housing and registration payment processes, including pre-event receivables and onsite
fee transactions and reconciliations. Prior to cmr, Ana spent several years with
California Federal Bank in their San Francisco Operations Department.
Andy Chou
Executive Director, IT & Systems
Andy Chou began his cmr career in 2003 as an IT Manager. Now, as part of the
executive team, he is focused on planning, developing and implementing comprehensive enterprise-wide
information technology strategy, technical architecture, and on-site support operations. Prior to
cmr, Andy brought his many years of experience to positions at various
companies/organizations such as UC Berkeley, Starwire, and Pixar.
Jim Jardine
Executive Director, Registration Systems and eMarketing
Since joining cmr's executive team in 2006, Jim has been responsible for
leading the on-going development of CMR.ez Registration, cmr's
proprietary web-based registration technology, and for directing the planning and execution of email
marketing campaigns. Jim brings to cmr over 20 years experience in the conventions,
meetings and incentives industry, in a variety of management positions including registration, customer
service, web development and database technology.
Frances Sankey
Executive Director, Sales and Industry Relations
Frances joined the cmr team in August with over 25 years of experience in hotel sales
and global account management. Since 1998, Frances has served as the Associate Director for the Washington,
D.C. Global Sales Office of Starwood Hotels and Resorts. Frances will oversee the account management of cmr's
current clients in the Washington, D.C. area, will provide strong representation of cmr in the D.C. association
community, and will develop new business opportunities for cmr.
