CMR's executive team offers a broad perspective on the convention and exhibition industry, largely attributed to our valuable years and collective experiences in the hospitality and travel sectors including: convention and visitor bureaus, hotels, airlines, technology, meetings and events.
Steve Olsen
Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Steve Olsen guides the company vision in all working facets of the organization and seeks to help every individual
realize his or her full professional potential. His rich experience in travel and convention management is credited
to previous positions held with Trans World Airlines, Maritz Travel Company, and just prior to the inception of CMR,
the San Francisco-based Shaklee Corporation as Director of Conventions.
Dave Goetz
Co-Founder and President
Dave Goetz is responsible for directing all new business development projects for CMR with an emphasis on industry
and client relations. Dave began his professional career with Hilton Hotels Corporation in 1981 and held national
sales management positions for the company in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Prior to CMR, he also represented the
Convention and Visitors Bureaus of both Phoenix and San Francisco in promoting each city as a citywide convention
destination for national associations.
Brian Roy
Chief Operating Officer
Brian Roy oversees Client Services, Operations, IT and Software Development as well as providing overall leadership,
company vision and strategic planning. Prior to joining CMR in 1998, Brian held management and sales positions with
Westin Hotels and Resorts for over 15 years. Brian also spent several years as Director of Convention Services with
IDG Expo Management, a Boston based tradeshow management company specializing in IT related tradeshows and events.
Nancy De Ubago
Vice President, Housing Systems
Nancy De Ubago is the lead content and functional advisor for the development of CMR.ez Housing, CMR’s proprietary
web-based housing software. Nancy has been with CMR since 1994 and has been instrumental in the design and delivery
of the housing management system. Nancy brings over twenty years of experience in the hospitality industry to CMR.
Nancy was previously responsible for housing operations at the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau.
John Fuhr
Vice President, Product Marketing
John Fuhr is one of CMR’s newest additions to the executive team as of September 2009. John manages and develops the
product marketing plan and sales strategy at CMR. John is a meeting and event industry expert with more than 25 years
of experience in sales management, business development and marketing. Prior to CMR, John was the Vice President of
Marketing at the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau where he led innovative Internet marketing campaigns
and programs for meeting planners and convention attendees. Prior to this, John held positions with Hilton Hotels
Corporation, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. and Cvent.
Julie Noto
Vice President, Client Services
Julie Noto is responsible for managing all components of Client Services, Quality Assurance and Customer Satisfaction.
Julie joined CMR in 2007 and has over 26 years in the hosptitality industry. Julie brings years
of hotel experience to CMR from Omni Hotels where she held various management positions in sales
and operations, including hotel General Manager.
Jim Jardine
Executive Director, Registration Systems and eMarketing
Jim Jardine leads the development of CMR.ez Registration, CMR's proprietary web-based registration software, and for
directing the planning and execution of email marketing campaigns. Jim joined CMR in 2006 and brings over 20 years
experience in the conventions, meetings and incentives industry, in a variety of management positions including registration,
customer service, web development and database technology.
Gary Casey
Director, Human Resources
Gary Casey joined CMR is 2006 and is responsible for the development and execution of policies and programs related to
all phases of employment services including: Benefits, compensation, employment, diversity, HR policies and procedures,
legal compliance, performance management, employee relations, training and development and HRIS. Gary brings a well-rounded
and progressive best practice approach to human resources at CMR from his previous HR experience within the legal, health
care and hospitality industries.
Steve Thompson
Controller
Steven Thompson is responsible for all accounting and financial reporting activities. In addition to managing the Finance
Department, Steven oversees the housing and registration payment processes. Steven joined the CMR executive team as Controller
in 2008. Before joining CMR, Steven was the Chief Financial Officer of Supercuts and National Holistic Institute, and was an
audit manager with Arthur Andersen & Co.
