CMR® Completes SAS 70 Type II Audit Process
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, May 31, 2011 — Convention Management Resources (CMR®) announced today that it has successfully completed the rigorous Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS-70) Type II audit process. The company engaged a leading independent audit firm to perform this extensive review. The SAS 70 Type II audit established that CMR® employs uniform and reliable operational controls and safeguards in providing registration and citywide housing management services to professional and trade associations.
“Successful completion of our SAS 70 Type II audit is a reflection of CMR®’s customer-centric operational focus,” said Steve Olsen, CEO of CMR®. “We’ve passed the security reviews of hundreds of individual companies, and we’re proud to now offer our customers the added assurance that SAS 70 provides.”
SAS 70 is an auditing statement issued by the Auditing Standards Board of the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts (AICPA), and is widely recognized as a preferred means of assessing the internal controls of service organizations. The Type II audit includes an auditor’s opinion on whether the controls were operating effectively during the review period. CMR® recently completed their audit process and successfully demonstrated that its processes and controls met the standard.
Brian Roy, COO at CMR®, added that the audit validates CMR®’s commitment to following best practices relating to software development and affirms that these technology solutions are reliable, provide accurate data, and offer dependable protection of critical data in a secure network environment. “We’ve been tightly-focused on providing innovative, customized solutions since day one,” said Roy. “As a leading housing and registration service provider to large public companies, this audit is often a ‘must-have’ for our customers, and we’re pleased to have completed the SAS 70 Type II with flying colors.”
Roy added that in undertaking the audit, CMR® not only recognized the importance of SAS 70 to many of its Fortune 1000 customers, but it was also a way to prominently demonstrate the company’s commitment to building and maintaining customer trust in securely handling customer data. “Completing a SAS 70 Type II audit is effectively a ‘seal of approval’ on the procedures and processes supporting our technology platform, our business processes and our physical operations,” said Roy. “It’s a way to show our customers, and prospects, that their data is in good hands with CMR®.”
