Our History

Steve Olsen and Dave Goetz founded Convention Management Resources, Inc. (CMR®) in 1991 in San Francisco, CA with the vision of providing customized service solutions to national associations and corporations that enhance the housing and registration experience for event organizers and participants.

 

In 2017, its 26th year in business, the company was purchased by Brian Roy, who joined CMR in 1998 as Vice President and part owner, Julie Noto, CMR’s Vice President of Client Services since 2007, and Art Murray, a longtime CMR technology services partner. CMR remains a private corporation, and 2021 represents the company’s 30th anniversary.

With remote employees throughout the nation, we are a full-service provider of housing, registration, onsite technology, and marketing services for citywide meetings, conventions, and exhibitions. We make every touch point in the housing and registration process easy, friendly, and smart.
